Flexible, robust, space-saving and environmentally friendly: LED signal lights for industrial applications

New LED signal lights from Pfannenberg: ABL LED-HI and ABS LED-HI

Electrical engineering specialist Pfannenberg is expanding its product portfolio with the addition of the LED signal lights ABL LED-HI and ABS LED-HI. Equipped with state-of-the-art LED technology, they offer flexible and versatile signal options and operating modes for industrial applications. Their robust design means that the industrial lights are also able to meet high demands, regardless of whether deployed indoors or outdoors. The number of possible applications is broad, e.g. the LED signal lights can be found in machine and plant operation, in condition and filling displays, in building safety, at loading stations and sluices, through to conveyor belts and in the process industry. With the QUADRO LED-HI as a flashing and traffic light, as well as the PMF LED FLEX all-round light, Pfannenberg complements its product portfolio for a wide range of applications.

The LED technology is characterized above all by its flexibility, environmental friendliness and lower costs. However, LED lights offer numerous other advantages in signal technology: brightness, light colors and work sequences can all be adapted to the respective application in every imaginable combination. Compared to the usual XENON technology, LED thus offers many more scenarios than just flash sequences.

Over 50,000 operating hours in almost every Environment

The ABL/ABS LED-HI are not only versatile, but also robust: they provide up to 50,000 operating hours regardless of conditions. The industrial lights easily handle temperatures of up to +55/-40° Celsius, vibrations, dust and moisture. This thanks to the compact and robust design of the lights, which are designed in protection class IP54. They are also similar widespread XENON variant. The housing itself is identical to that of the XENON version, which has been used for years in a wide variety of industrial environments.

For users, this means one thing above all: simpler plant modernization. Modernization is extremely easy thanks to unchanged space requirements, identical mounting holes and connections – but new energy and cost-saving technology. Another advantage is the significantly longer service life of the signal lights. Protective cages can also be attached, if required.

Energy-saving and environmentally friendly

Energy saving is very easy with the standard wide-voltage power supply with 90-253 V AC/DC or 11-60 V DC. Thanks to LED technology, the supplied energy is to a large extent emitted as light and the loss due to heat radiation is very small. By comparison, conventional incandescent lamps convert only 5% of the supplied energy into light, with the remaining 95% emitted as heat radiation, which means it is lost. In addition to economical energy consumption, the ABL LED-HI and ABS LED-HI are characterized by their environmental friendliness. LEDs are free of pollutants such as mercury and are therefore not hazardous waste. Instead, they can be disposed of as electronic waste, where much of the raw material is recycled.
