Pfannenberg convinced the customer not only with its energy-efficient devices that require very little maintenance and have a long product life but also with its global presence. Depending on site and application, the customer may choose from all of Pfannenberg’s thermal management solutions – from thermostats, filter fans and air/water heat exchangers to cooling units of the εCOOL series.

The perfect cooling solution for any requirement

Whether painting or assembly work, manufacturing in the automotive industry uses many different processes at the same time. Therefore, production efficiency and the availability of plant and machinery have top priority in all areas. There are different cooling requirements depending on the application, and a precise requirement analysis is needed to specify the proper performance. Otherwise, an oversize system may lead to higher energy consumption. Here, Pfannenberg offers the right thermal management solution for every cooling requirement and provides for an energy-efficient, smooth production sequence. In particular, Pfannenberg’s cooling units of the εCOOL series stand out for their strong performance, intelligent control and exceptionally maintenance-friendly design.

“We are very pleased about this cooperation and look forward to the coming years as a partner of the BMW Group. Thanks to the outstanding cooperation of the technical team, the customer service and our account managers, we can offer the BMW Group a convincing all-round package,” says Jan Lautenschläger, Director Sales Germany at Pfannenberg. “In the production area, an energy-efficient cooling concept is becoming increasingly important and here in particular regarding the CO² emissions along the production chain. Major customers such as BMW are demanding a respective company-wide solution with a sustainable concept for the future. Here, the focus is clearly on energy efficiency and perceivable quality.”

Convincing energy efficiency and ease of maintenance

The invitation to tender focused on energy efficiency and maintenance requirements. With its installation of test devices, Pfannenberg convinced in particular with the εCOOL series. A realistic energy consumption analysis facilitated the simulation of the energy consumptions expected in the different production facilities. Due to low ambient temperatures, the actual environment at the customer sites will often not require the device to operate at full power. This is where the Pfannenberg energy-saving mode scores as it optimizes partial-load phases. Furthermore, the standardised installation dimensions and the uniform housing cut-outs allow easy replacement of the cooling technologies and a fast adaptation to the changing environmental and application conditions. Pfannenberg deliberately refrains from additional components that would increase maintenance.
