Ladies and Gentlemen,
The new EU-Regulation for chemical substances called REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals) entered into force on June 1, 2007.
The aim of REACH is to improve the protection of human health and the environment through the better and earlier identification of the intrinsic properties of chemical substances.
The REACH-Regulation is the most progressive chemical law worldwide with which the competiveness of the EU-industry should be enhanced.
According to REACH, our delivered products are classified as manufactured items. In terms of the REACH-Regulation Pfannenberg is considered a "subsequent" user, as our company does not produce any of the named substances.
Consequently Pfannenberg is not directly affected by this regulation and is therefore not subject to the duty to register as described in the regulation.
We have contacted all concerned pre-suppliers with the objective that all substances and components delivered to Pfannenberg meet the specifications of the REACH-Regulation (this is part of the Pfannenberg terms and conditions of purchase). Final statements are not yet completely available.
It results from the regulation that Pfannenberg suppliers have to inform us "actively", in case there are any non-conformances. If this should happen, we will inform you immediately.
With the described procedure Pfannenberg meets the obligations that result from the new REACH-Regulation.
Of course, we will inform you immediately, if we cannot deliver present products due to this regulation anymore.
We hope that with this statement you feel sufficiently informed. But unfortunately we are not in the position of answering individual, customer-specific questionnaires, due to the very high complexity of the topic. Thus we would like to refer to the preceding explanation. Thank you for your understanding.
