εCOOL family extended to the standard performance bracket

The energy efficiency, service friendliness and cut-out-compatibility for which the product family is known is now also available in the 1000 to 1500 W range.

Hamburg, 2 May 2016. Electro-technology specialist Pfannenberg has extended the εCOOL family to include cooling units in the 1000–1500 W performance bracket for side or door mounting (DTS) as well as partially recessed mounting (DTI). This means that users can now also benefit from the advantages offered by the εCOOL family in this popular range. The high energy efficiency which results from the market leading energy efficiency ratio (EER) offered by these units is particularly noteworthy. EER is defined as the quotient of the actual cooling capacity of the cooling unit and its nominal power consumption. The units in the εCOOL family reduce energy consumption compared to the traditional models by up to 43 %, and even by 10 % more in standby mode.

Along with specially developed components, the large distances between the intake and outlet openings contribute to the high cooling capacity of the devices as they ensure an effective air flow through the electrical enclosure and thus avoid the formation of hot spots.

Furthermore, the εCOOL units are particularly low-maintenance and service-friendly which results in lower operating costs. The Pfannenberg concept of "cut-out-compatibility" allows previous generations to be easily upgraded and offers flexible replacement of units with air/air or air/water heat exchangers in the same series.

The design of the cooling units guarantees that they are extremely service-friendly: it is possible for one person to install a unit within just a few minutes. Access to all the relevant components is easy and the plug and play concept with the patented fixing system allows individual components to be replaced quickly. The optional filter adapter for which aluminium, fleece and fluted filters are available can be retrofitted in just a few seconds with no need for any tools. The fins on the condenser are widely spaced and offer highly effective protection where the air is particularly contaminated. Longer intervals between services result.

Energy-saving mode is integrated as standard in units with a multicontroller. An additional temperature sensor allows the fan to be switched on and off in response to the temperature measured inside the electrical enclosure. The multimaster function of these controllers ensures that the temperature remains constant, even in large groups of electrical enclosures, by operating several cooling devices simultaneously. A service interface allows external parameterisation and the fault memory to be read via a PC. It is possible to integrate an optional modbus interface to permit communication with the machine control system.

Thanks to consistent cut-out-compatibility users can upgrade to the new series without any major effort. Units can be replaced quickly, warehousing is simplified and the choice of cooling technology is more flexible.
